The much-anticipated return of Indonesia’s largest twin events for the furniture manufacturing trade – IFMAC and WOODMAC is set for 21 to 24 September 2022. With 8 strong editions achieved since its first staging in 2012 and before the pandemic halted its usual cycle of welcoming largely international exhibiting companies and Indonesia’s top furniture industry players, its organizer, PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI) has announced robust plans for the exhibitions to resume its booth sales for only 50% of remaining spaces and visitor promotion activities over the next 10 months.
Expectations for a full-scale International Furniture Manufacturing Components Exhibition (IFMAC) and Woodworking Machinery Exhibition (WOODMAC) next year are high amongst its returning exhibitors, industry partners and visiting buyers who missed the face-to-face exchange on the show floor. With 50% of the 3 halls at the usual venue; the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran already secured with pre-booked and returning exhibitors who had confirmed their participation since the last edition in 2019, booth sales are moving fast for the remaining 30% reserved for new country pavilions and 20% targeted to welcome first-time exhibitors. Visitors can look towards a well-represented international standard exhibition with the confirmed participation of companies from Australia, Austria, China, Finland, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, USA and more globally-renowned manufacturers in the incoming months.
Positive market-bounced prospects
Sharing their optimism for a well-poised exhibitions next year, Abdul Sobur from Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) commented that, “Indonesia's furniture manufacturing and woodworking industries have shown their resilience in overcoming the pandemic impacts. Furniture industry players have adapted to the slowdown of demands, especially from export markets by being innovative in finding new parallel or underserved local supply channels, therefore bringing manufacturers, retailers and customers all closer together to keep the industry going during challenging times.” IFMAC and WOODMAC 2022 have also garnered the support of long-standing industry associations such as The Indonesian Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Trade, Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (HIMKI), Indonesian Wood Panel Indonesia (APKINDO), Indonesian Sawmill and Woodworking Association (ISWA), Indonesian Furniture Designer Association (HDMI), Indonesian Interior Design Contractor Association (KIDI), American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), French Timber Association, German Woodworking Machinery Association (VDMA), China National Forestry Machinery Association (CNFMA), Lunjiao Woodworking Machinery Association, Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA), Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), and many more.
Encouraging sentiments on positive outcomes of IFMAC and WOODMAC 2022 have also come from exhibiting companies such as PT Felder Group Indonesia, Dainasint and ABC Tools. With previous successes at IFMAC, PT Felder Group Indonesia’s presence in 2022 is certain as they are “very optimistic of another beneficial participation given that most of the new customers gained in the past years since exhibiting at IFMAC were from the exhibition. Visitors can look forward to us returning with a prominent booth area to see Felder’s many machinery options on the show floor,” said its representative. Having confirmed their booth space early, ABC Tools is expecting larger visitor attendance compared to previous editions as they prepare to showcase their latest range of woodworking tools and accessories. For Dainasint, confidence in their modern design offerings is expected to draw high visits to their booths from visitors who have been waiting for the exhibition for several years.
Full-range offerings to support companies’ business continuity
IFMAC and WOODMAC 2022 will feature the full exhibit range including top-grade new foreign-built and locally-assembled equipment, high-performing machinery options pre-used range catering to the different size of Indonesia’s manufacturer business operations. Wide selections of adhesives, coatings, paints, fittings, upholstery, computer-based IT solutions and many other related components required for furniture manufacturing will make up the non-machinery segments of the show floor. With the resumption of global import-export trading of timber materials and high-demand for unique Indonesian wood produce, dedicated wood-panel themed areas will also be a highlight next year.

IFMAC & WOODMAC 2022 visitor promotions will target local manufacturers, brand owners and retail buyers whose businesses range from furniture components and woodwork manufacturing, furniture production or ODM contract manufacturers to contractors, architects, designers, commercial buildings and residential developers as well as other related industry professionals.
