Global Technologies to Boost Indonesia's Furniture Industry

The Return of IFMAC & WOODMAC 2016

09-06-2016
The return of IFMAC & WOODMAC 2016 is set to accommodate Indonesia’s growing furniture manufacturing and woodworking industries

After the success of the fourth International Furniture Manufacturing Components Exhibition (IFMAC) and Woodworking Machinery Exhibition (WOODMAC) in 2015, preparations are on high mode to stage an even bigger event this year. Scheduled to be held from 28 to 30 September 2016 at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran, the fifth edition of IFMAC & WOODMAC will be expanded further following the vast growth of Indonesia’s furniture manufacturing and woodworking industries.

Positive reviews and strong encouragement from previous exhibitors and visitors on the impressive top-grade products and wide array of machinery displayed at the earlier staging provided the benchmark for IFMAC & WOODMAC’s organizer – PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI) to present a larger show floor. WAKENI is set to make this year’s event as the main source for industry players to find the newest technologies, machinery, tools and components, raw materials and solutions for interior works, adhesives, abrasive, paint, coatings and fitting needs.

For its fifth staging, IFMAC & WOODMAC have targeted a world-class presentation with over 250 exhibiting companies covering some 11.000 sqm exhibition space catered for over 15.000 international trade buyers and domestic visitors. A 40% increase in overall exhibition growth is also expected compared to its preceding performance last year where a total of 178 exhibiting companies from 18 companies convened at the exhibition across its 8000 sqm show floor.

With 40% of the available exhibition spaces already pre-booked or reserved for returning exhibitors, fast-moving booth sales have provided a promising start to IFMAC & WOODMAC 2016. Sharing her optimism, Mrs. Rini Sumardi, Director of WAKENI said that, “amidst Indonesia’s growing economy along with the continuous support from our industry partners, we will deliver a high-performing exhibition to meet the rapidly changing demands of the industry.” IFMAC & WOODMAC 2016 will be held with the support of over 10 international and local industry partners and associations including AMKRI (Indonesia Furniture and Craft Association), ISWA (Indonesian Sawmill and Woodworking Association), TAPEC (Taiwan Association for participation in International Exhibitions & Conventions) and others.

Strategically put together to further uplift Indonesia’s position as a strong furniture and woodwork producer for global markets, IFMAC & WOODMAC will feature the end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain derived from Indonesia’s unique capabilities, quality raw materials as well as its skilled workforce. Mrs. Sumardi said that, “valuable feedback from exhibitors and visitors highlighted the popular trends, sourcing priorities and categories of high-demand products that the exhibition will be focusing on this year. As the organizer, we aim to meet the requirements of all stakeholders and are happy to have brought both the seller and buyer end of the procurement spectrum closer for them to reach business growth together.”

Worldwide exhibiting companies can attain business opportunities by supporting domestic players with their leading furniture products and high-technology machinery, make conclusive sales and gain essential market information when participating at IFMAC & WOODMAC 2016. Over the three-day event, companies can draw potential customers with live demonstration and new products introduction.

Mrs Sumardi also added that, “boosted by high export demands, industrial production in Indonesia’s furniture industries recorded high increase and profit gains over the past few years and is expected to grow further in 2016 and beyond. With 95% of exhibiting companies at IFMAC & WOOMAC 2015 indicating Indonesia as an important market for their business, the exhibition’s growth is reflective of the fast technological modernization happening in the local furniture industry.”

Companies participating at the exhibitions will experience IFMAC & WOODMAC as the ideal platforms to contribute to Indonesia’s need for automated solutions and high-performing machinery. Promoting exclusive business networking opportunities will be a core deliverable for exhibitors to capture the vast investment potential that Indonesia offers.

The exhibition’s attractive strategy in drawing the best industry experts to share critical insights on recent market developments and ways to optimize untapped business prospects in Indonesia will continue at various industry seminars held on-site. In all, IFMAC & WOODMAC 2016 is on track to reach greater heights in mirroring Indonesia’s raising influence in the global furniture and woodworking markets.
