Optimism on Indonesia’s lucrative market potential boldly highlighted

Mr Abdul Sobur, Chairman of the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Association (AMKRI) said that, “The association strongly supports IFMAC & WOODMAC 2015. This exhibition is vital to boost the industry’s need for more advanced manufacturing technology and machinery that can enhance production efficiency productivity to compete at international markets.” Mr Sobur who addressed a full-house crowd at the concurrent seminar on ‘Sustainable Furniture Industry – Focusing in Global Market Trends on Design and Technology’ also stressed that “The strong support from the local government to grow the nation’s furniture industry to reach its USD 5 billion worth mark over the next few years should encouraged local manufacturers to ensure that their business remain profitable and sustainable. Improved investment is needed to secure new investments in better technologies and manufacturing systems.”
Close to 11,000 international and local businessmen, industry specialists, trade buyers and other related professionals in the furniture industry were swarming across the exhibition halls. Reviewing the good pool of visitors that he had engaged with, Max Theobald, PT Leitz Tooling Indonesia shared that,” We are very happy to participate in this event. Through this event, we are able to keep in contact with our current customers, and of course, we are also able to expand our customer base by getting new customers.”
The excitement also came from the visitor’s side who is very pleased with the outcome of their visit. They are amazed with the amount of crowd that came through the exhibitions, and most importantly, they have managed to find their targeted products. This kind of experience is shared through by Mr. Endy Maytazan from PT Tanamas Industry Communitas, "We are looking for something useful for our fabric. I met Felder, Tata Teknik and Ekamant and found that they offered high-quality products with competitive price and the quality. This event always has a different product display from year to year; and we hope next year we can see more live machine demonstrations." While Mr. Budianto from PT Mahogany Lestari shared that, "This year’s event is bigger than last year. This is my second visit for this exhibition. I am managed to find the machine that I am looking for and definitely interested to use their machine at our company."
